For example if your site is related to banking sector then a few commonly used keywords used is home loan, home loans, mortgage, or other such general words or phrases. These are highly competitive keywords, so instead you may look at re-arranging the words, so instead of student loan, maybe loan student. A number of Top SEO Consultants or Optimizers typically suggest webmasters to select one primary keyword found in the domain or Sub domain name of their website & use in the site content. There are many free SEO services that can help you accomplish this task.
If you want to target multiple keywords in your URL structure, you can use hyphens & create it like seo-tools, seo-guidelines, seo-help etc.
The other approach will be using the other important keywords in the directory names and file names.
Remember a Search engine does not like pages that have many errors. To keep the WebPages free from errors, one should declare the type of document at the beginning & also should validate the CSS & HTML Coding.
When putting together your meta tags, you want a good title, you want it to have a good, descriptive title with your keywords included. As this will be displayed in the search engine results, one should choose the words carefully.
Also, don’t over look the highly important H or heading tags when it comes to optimizing your site.So, make sure to include important keywords in that tags.But, make sure that it does have any similarity with the title of the page.
Make the practice of using synonyms instead of using those keywords on every center & corner of the page content. Please remember to use attractive keywords when inserting in those Meta tags since these are the ones that will be displayed in the search engine results.
If you have images on your site, you can use tags for better indexing, and in turn more traffic.
Do not make the Site loaded with much flash; the search engines do not like too much flash on a site. Rather, load your site with rich and unique content on each page. Make sure that the site does not get spammed; else it may lead to decline in getting the proper page ranking in the search engines.
