The world of viruses – Useful Info to Know
The world as we know it is rapidly changing, yesterday I had a client walk through my doors with a Hp laptop clutched in his hands, he had just been attacked by a virus. His bank account was emptied and his computer was worthless. He couldn’t afford for me to repair it so i took it on credit. His bank refunded the money to him luckily and i received payment of $399 for repair of his PC. I convinced him to buy Kaspersky antivirus and i have not seen him for any virus problem since!
This is just one of the stories that comes to me constantly. Yes its a more expensive one then most, but it can happen to anyone. Even if you feel you are protected by other antivirus products you may want to think again. At www.squidoo.com/AntiViruses-Tests you can see the results of testing various antivirus. If you do decided to buy Kaspersky antivirus you will not be sorry. Its a worth while product for the home and business which will save you money in the long run. Its estimated by the federal government that viruses are a 42 billion dollar illegal business. Webroot estimates that 89% of consumer PCs are infected with some sort of spy-ware. You do not know its there, but sadly it is. Viruses are taking your information right this moment. Buy kaspersky antivirus today and keep your money safe.
“Appointments for cancer patients had to be rescheduled after a computer virus infected the networking systems at two Scottish hospitals last week.
The infection of laboratory PCs at the Stobhill and Gartnavel General hospitals meant the bookings of 12 patients attending the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Care Centre in Glasgow were postponed, The Glasgow Herald reports. Systems were taken offline for two days to allow computer technicians to clean up the mess.”
This is a clipping from a recent news article. What would have happend if they were on life support. could they have they have died? The need for security in this changing world can now be the difference between life and death.
Your chances for infections are very high in other headlines of the past month you will find things such as; Prolific worm infects 3.5m Windows PCs
“A prolific new worm has spread to infect more than 3.5m Windows PCs, according to net security firm F-secure. The success of the Conficker (AKA Downadup) worm is explained by its use of multiple attack vectors and new social engineering ruses, designed to hoodwink the unwary into getting infected.”
3.5 KNOWN pcs are infect. That is a huge percentile to be infected in the population, and it gets worse that is only the known!

Hi, there are basically two things you need to do:
1. Use a good antivirus such as McAfee that will automatically update. Don’t go for the free ones which can be worse than useless, causing problems of their own to your computer.
2. Get yourself an external hard drive and back up all your information to it regularly. Everybody should do this anyway in case of hardware failure, which is very common and nothing to do with viruses.
Best regards,
Dean
