The Ultimate Druid Leveling Guide
Druids are the most versatile class out of any other class in World of Warcraft. Like the Death Knight, they do not require a shield when they are tanking due to their unique bear form. In cat form, they are much like a rogue, where they can even stealth if they’d like to. While in shape form, a Druid is immune to polymorphing spells – and if they are caught out of a shape form, they can simply shift into a form to get out of a polymorph.
Moonkin form is what a balance druid uses to DPS. It provides not only armour contribution levels to 370% of normal, it also provides a bonus of 5% critical strike chance to yourself and any party and raid members within 45 yards. Single target critical strikes also instantly grant you a regeneration of 2% of your total mana. A chance on melee hit to restore mana based on attack power. This is a rare skill for druid casters that allows them to regenerate mana. If you specialize, there is also an advanced moonkin form that will add 3% spell haste and 5% of your spirit as additional spell damage.
Druids even get a travel form that allows them to travel fasters while outdoors. It increases travel speed by 40%.
Their tanking forms are bear form and dire bear form. Bear form is the first form a Druid receives, which is later replaced by dire bear form, adding additional stamina of 25% and armour contribution of 370%.
There is also an aquatic form that allows swim speed to be boosted by 50% and allows underwater breathing.
Druids also have flight forms. One for the slower 60% speed flying mount and one for the 280% flying mount.
The form called Tree of Life is an interesting and valuable form that is granted to a Druid who pursues the restoration specialization. The form is a small, mobile tree that comes with valuable healing additions to the Druid’s capabilities. Each person’s healing abilities within 45 yards are increased by 6% and all healing over time spells cost 20% less mana. During this time, however, the Druid will only be able to case restoration and neutral spells.
As healers, Druids overpower the damage coming onto their allies with effective healing over time spells. Often, they can stack these spells on top of each other and keep a steady flow of health points coming to their allies. In some cases, they can disperse a healing over time spell for instant healing.
Mages often dislike fighting against Druids while in player versus player content because of their immunity to polymorph. This makes Druids a great class against mage heavy groups.
