Regardless of the season there are always plenty of adventures. Some love skiing or snowboarding all winter long. As soon as the snow begins to fall they head for the mountains to spend the day enjoying slopes, lifts, and downhill fun. When the weather warms, the beach is their destination for surfing, the moutains for sunshine hikes, or the rivers and lakes for fishing. While the great outdoors are a great deal of fun, there are special things that need to be done to protect yourself and your belongings. If you will be out in the sun, use sunlotion regardless of the temperature. Weather-appropriate footwear and clothing may be necessary, and you may need to travel with someone else or at least let someone know where you will be. It does not end with safety, if you want to have a great time and make great memories. To make the most of the outdoors, it is important to make sure you return home with your entire belongings intact. You do not want to replace ipod parts or iphone screen after a day in the sun, and you do not want to have to spend your hard on money to fix or replace items like sunglasses, wallets, jewelry, or sports equipment. By taking advantage of a few tips before you head outdoors, your adventures will be a lot more fun.

The most important thing to understand if you will be near water you need to keep electronics from getting wet. You could leave them behind, but in this age of GPS hiking and outdoor recreation including activities like geocaching; functioning without electronics seems impossible. You can get waterproof bags from adventure stores that cover and will protect your items from getting wet. If you are just beginning your outdoor adventures, you may prefer to use a plastic bag for protection instead of investing in a specially designed cover. It is advisable to use two plastic bags, just in case a hole tears into the top layer, or just for the security of added protection.

Remember the bitter cold and burning sun can do damage to electronic and other items. Whether you leave items in your car as you trek out to enjoy the beach or the mountains, or whether you carry items along with you, protect them from burning sunlight. Use care to make sure you do not drop items along a trail or while in the ocean by attaching them to parts of your clothing. Carry a wallet on a belt loop chain, wear only secure jewelry like wedding bands, and put your sunglasses on a cord around your neck in case they slip off your nose or head. With just a few precautions, outdoor fun can be safe and rewarding.
