Empire Total War – The Most Exciting Game Ever
It is finally out. The long awaited Empire Total War. Every time a new Total War game is released, it always surpasses it’s predecessor. Empire Total War is no different, it is just incredible.
There has always been real life characters in the Total War games but i was pleasantly surprised to find Isaac Newton as a “gentleman” character. Place him in a city to speed up construction times. You can also decide exactly what your nation is going to research, be it the army, navy, agriculture, cultural or religious buildings which will give you an edge over other nations.
The entire interface is different to all the other Total War games and the graphics and sound are incredible. The intro sequence runs like a high budget movie and the long awaited debut of the naval battles do not disappoint. Although it does take some getting used to. That follows with the land battles also. I have been used to the Total War land battle interfaces being similar to each other, but there is a different feel to Empire Total War which takes a bit of getting used to.
There has on release been two different versions of the game. I suggest you buy total war “Special Forces” edition, which costs a few dollars or pounds more.
When you buy Total War Special Forces Edition you get the following extras which are not available with the normal version.
HMS Victory: Nelsons famous flagship. Imagine having a Total War game without the most famous battle ship in history.
Rogers Rangers: Major Robert Rogers highly trained elite light infantry, specialising in reconnaissance and special operations. They are extremely versatile in even the most challenging terrains.
Ottoman Organ Gun: A viciously powerful field gun, deadly at near range like a world war 1 machine gun powered by gun powder, hews down the enemy like a plow through snow.
Ghoorkas: Very brave soldiers from nepal, alide to the British and armed with 18 inch blades. They fight to the last man, never surrendering. These will become available to the first country to take the Kashmir region of India.
Corso Terrestre Guerillas: Low in numbers but fierce. Experts at camoflage and attack. They can be recruited as mercenaries by anyone.
Bulkeley’s Regiment: A French unit of Irish mercenaries, very tough and resilient with a hatred for the British.
The Dahomey Amazons: An elite all female unit from western Africa, excellent with rifles and in close combat, they don’t take prisoners so be careful. In legend these warriors beheaded their enemy.
So there you have it. If you’re already a fan of the series then you really must buy total war. If you’ve never played it before but are a fan of the genre then this game will give you hours of enjoyment.
